PRETTY52'S GUIDE TO THE PERFECT SKINCARE ROUTINE

A good skincare routine is something everyone should adopt into their daily life. Whether its a morning pick me up or a night-time calm down, caring for your skin should be at the top of your priority.






Building up skincare essentials is vital for healthy looking skin. Whichever brand you prefer along with products that suit you, should be your approach to strengthening and restoring the barriers of your face, whilst aiming to appear more radiant. After all, the stress of daily life does take its toll.

Now don't get me wrong, it can seem overwhelming at first: all the different creams, what goes before what, how many steps you have to take in order to get clear skin...but it is all worth it in the long run. Products suited to your own skin, that will care for it and cleanse your face the right way, will leave you glowing and feeling super fresh.

Step 1: Clear a space for you to relax and create


There's nothing worse than spilling your products all over your sheets as you're lying in bed at night. If you're looking for a skincare routine that takes care of everything on your list, you're going to need a lot of room.

Find a place that works for you, even something as simple as your bathroom or dressing table to allow yourself space to lay everything out.






Step 2: Get all your products ready


This step is to make sure you've got everything you need in order to have a kickass day or peaceful night. 

Depending on the time of day, your products will vary and you need to decide what you think is best suited to your routine. Some you'll double up twice a day, and others you'll only need once. It seems like a lot of effort, but just keep thinking of that Kardashian glow!






Step 3: Cleansing your skin


If you're anything like us and like to experiment with make-up (check out this AMAZING lip-art inspo: http://www.pretty52.com/stylish/hair-and-beauty-lipspiration-these-lip-looks-will-make-you-want-to-grab-your-lippy-20160310), then you need to make sure you take it off correctly and give your skin a good cleanse. 

Micellar water is bae for making sure that any hard-to-budge make up comes off smoothly and restores any moisture that was taken away. Micellar water can be used as a facial wash or make up remover as the micelles in the formula are attracted to dirt and oil, which allows any impurities in the skin to be drawn out.

The second part to cleansing your skin is to use a toner to soothe any redness or sensitivity. Pour a couple of drops onto a cotton pad and gently blend into your skin. This will just give you an extra cleanse once you've taken your make up off, to ensure that any excess oil or dirt is taken care of.






Step 4: Prepping your skin

If you're looking for a basic skincare routine, you could probably miss this step out. But gals...would Queen Bey miss out a step for her glowing skin? 

Yeah. I didn't think so.

An activating essence treatment effectively activates your skin for a smoother and more radiant appearance. Despite its oily consistency, it doesn't weigh into your pores and instead releases hydrating ingredients directly into different surface layers. You only need a few drops to create a glow!






Step 5: Restoring moisture

With wearing make up everyday or being exposed to sunlight, it is easy for our skin's natural moisture to be drained. Skin should retain around 40-50% of water, but the average person typically comes in at around 28-31%.

This step in your skincare routine will help target any dry areas whilst making your appear much more awake. Let's face it, if you can cheat your way to a more awake look, it means more time for Netflix marathons ;)






Investing in two different oils is a good idea as each will concentrate on exactly what your skin needs for either day or night. A daytime oil defends against any toxins and helps to keep skin fresh; whilst a nighttime one will work its magic whilst you sleep!

A few drops is enough for your whole face, and remember to pat it on- do not rub. 






Step 6: Moisturising

The final layer to your perfect skincare routine lies with a facial cream.

To help lock in all the goodness you've released into your skin, a good moisturiser is where it's at. This will leave you feeling smooth, soft and hydrated! But remember to get one with a lightweight texture to ensure your skin doesn't feel weighed down.






Step 7: Check out your results!

After a few days of following your skincare routine you'll start to see a difference. Your skin will feel much softer, along with a beautiful glow!
